Community

We actively encourage and support our employees to engage with local communities so that we can make a positive impact on society. This in turn contributes to high morale, productivity and retention.

Our community programme is focussed on partnerships in the community and charitable initiatives. There is a virtual team across Capita Symonds who support and monitor initiatives, however, we encourage and empower business units to invest in their local communities. As a business Capita Symonds also works with Business in the Community (BITC) to help maximise our resources.

Our investment in local area regeneration includes physical regeneration of an area, as well as local job creation, providing work for local suppliers and contributing resources and time to local community projects. This investment will lead to more sustainable communities.

Project Links with the Community
Our community projects include Safe Routes to Schools, New Deals for Communities, Community and Town Regeneration and New Build Sustainable Schools. We have visited schools to educate children on road safety, ecological issues, dangers of playing on railway tracks, and promoting construction and civil engineering as part of our projects in the community.

Local Partnerships in the Community
Employees volunteer their time for community cleans ups around the UK. Employees volunteer to support children with reading and learning languages during lunch times. We have developed education partnerships supporting work experience students.

Wider Community Initiatives
