The project
Capita Symonds was appointed to support an international
consortium led by HOK Sport. The aim of the project was to assist
the consortium in developing a business case to support a funding
bid to the Bahrain Ministry of Finance to redevelop the Bahrain
racecourse and surrounding areas, with a particular focus on those
elements that would optimise the commercial potential of the
scheme.
As part of the business case, the team analysed the capital
costs of various options and estimated the likely associated
revenue streams, all supported by extensive market research,
benchmarking, competitor appraisal and risk/sensitivity
analysis.
The Capita Symonds’ team was responsible for overall project
management, inputs to the business plan, business plan production
and assistance with bid completion. Capita Symonds’
sub-contractors, Grant Thornton, provided assistance with the
business planning model and verification of its outputs and also
supplied tourism/hotel market information. The project was
successfully delivered within a tight timescale.
