The project
Capita Symonds was engaged to undertake the design
of M&E and structural engineering services for this mixed use
development comprising 720 room bed-sit student accommodation over
26 storeys, and 5,000sqm of commercial offices to CAT A
standard.
The development is proposed to be constructed utilising ‘pod’
technology where off site modular pre-manufactured advantages can
be maximised.
Sustainability and carbon reduction is a key
feature of the design process and particular attention will be
given to the fabric of the building to create an optimum balance
between heat loss, daylight penetration and minimising
infiltration. The main focus will be to provide an energy efficient
landmark development utilising renewable energy solution in the
heart of London.
