Capita Symonds joins UK Green Building Council

21 January 2010

UK-GBC

Capita Symonds has joined the UK Green Building Council (UK-GBC), emphasising our commitment to sustainability in the built environment.

As a major consultant across all building design disciplines, delivering innovative, affordable and appropriate sustainable solutions is a major focus for Capita Symonds. The partnership with the UK-GBC will enable us to join forces with other leading businesses to share knowledge and encourage best practice across the industry.

Their membership indicates their enthusiasm for the sustainability journey and their knowledge across multi-disciplines will be invaluable

UK-GBC is a not-for-profit membership organisation campaigning for a sustainable built environment. Uniquely, it brings together architects, engineers, financiers, product manufacturers, cost consultants, energy suppliers, surveyors, developers, contractors, occupiers and others with an impact on the sustainability of the built environment.

Jonathan Goring, Managing Director, Capita Symonds, says: “Membership of UK-GBC highlights our support for the need to transform the way our industry plans, designs, constructs, maintains and operates the built environment. UK-GBC gives us a unique forum for sharing information, advancing green building knowledge and influencing both government and industry. We look forward to working with members towards making the UK-GBC’s vision a reality.”

Paul King, UK-GBC chief executive, said: "We're delighted to have Capita Symonds on board. Their membership indicates their enthusiasm for the sustainability journey and their knowledge across multi-disciplines will be invaluable. I look forward to involving them in our ongoing programme of work as we step up our campaign for radical transformation in the sustainability of the built environment."

Capita Symonds is also a sponsor of the UKGBC-supported Ecobuild event, the world’s biggest event for sustainable design, construction and the built environment on 02-04 March 2010. Find out more about what we're doing at the event.
