The property function across the whole
of the public sector must play its part in delivering the savings
demanded by such austere times. All Central Government bodies are
the subject of a lease moratorium and will soon begin operating and
managing some of their properties under Property Vehicles. The need
to rationalize the estate following the ‘bonfire of the quangos’
will continue to exercise many Heads of Estates and their Finance
colleagues.
