Capita Symonds is to host a session at the AoC College
Finance Directors' Conference and Exhibition 2011.
Title: ‘Creative approaches to financing
capital projects and growing sustainable educationally led business
plans’
Date: Tuesday 28th June
Time: 2.55pm
Venue: The International Centre, Telford
In the session, Capita Symonds’ Richard Dinsdale, Paul Mallinder
and Julie Tolley will offer a case study showing how they generated
in excess of £50m for delivery of capital projects for a local
college.
Of critical importance was de-risking the college from the
financial implications of implementing the new projects, of putting
change management mechanisms in place for both staff and students,
and handling the risk of transition of students and staff to new
locations from traditional campus bases.
A series of partnerships and procurement routes are explored in
the session including thoughts on how to establish and then
implement strategic partnerships with investor companies to
maximise the unlocking of college assets.
The effective capitalisation of revenue savings is also
explored, along with discussion of those areas in which substantial
savings can be made and then converted. ‘Gain Share’ and ‘Pain
Share’ options are also covered
Finally, Richard and Julie will show how, by the creative use of
prospective partnerships with professional companies, the maximum
benefit of capital projects can be taken, to lever fantastic
learning, training and job opportunities for both students and
staff alike.
