Symonds is expert in the design of concrete and steel bridges (up
to 200m spans) and other related structures.
Our work encompasses footbridges, retaining
walls and culverts spanning or supporting highways, railways,
waterways, footways and/or utilities.

The majority of our design work is undertaken
to Department for Transport or Network Rail Design Standards and we
have experience in delivering schemes under Design & Build, New
Engineering Contract, Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) and
framework contracts.
Our teams also carry out inspections,
assessment, repair, maintenance and strengthening of bridge stock
for numerous clients - primarily local authority and Government
departments. We also manage bridge assets and abnormal load routes,
and provide Technical Approval Authority expertise for highway
structures projects.
